Are you between the ages of 14 and 18? Join us for the final date of the Nature Centers Summer Youth Volunteer Group! Help us wrap up summer camp and prepare for the preschool year to come.

Not only will you be helping out your local nature center, but you will also be getting the chance to make new friends, gain new experiences and feel good about yourself!

Friday Family Fun Night: Reptiles of the World

Join our Naturalists for a trip around the world to meet some really radical reptiles! Learn about what makes some of the oldest living animals on the planet so cool: where they live, what they eat, and what makes them so unique. Engage in the hands-on exploration of real reptile artifacts and get the chance to meet lizards, turtles, snakes, and more!

Creatures of the Night...Hike!

How do your nighttime senses compare to those of the nocturnal animals that call NCNC home? Join us for a guided night hike and try your hand at our naturalist-led challenges to find out! First we'll put your night vision to the test to find out if you can see as well as an owl in the dark. Then we'll focus on your sense of smell, hearing and touch!

Space is limited and advanced registration is strongly recommended, so register early to guarantee your spot!

Your child will experience while learning in an outdoor classroom filled with ponds, woodlands and fields. Our unique program offers invaluable resources not to be found in any other early childhood education setting to build each child's foundation for life-long learning and success.

Come enjoy the Nature Center! Take a hike on our two miles of trails that criss-cross the site (including a 350-foot marsh boardwalk).

Go on a scavenger hunt. The New Canaan Nature Center is located on a 40-acre site which features unusual habitat diversity offering a variety of horticultural experiences for the visitors as well as a live Birds of Prey Exhibit, a variety of gardens, a Greenhouse and a Visitors Center which houses our Discovery Room, Art Exhibits and the Nature Gift Shop.
