Eastern Bluebird

Barn Swallow

This summer season; please join us in welcoming the Barn Swallow as our highlighted bird! Not only is it a true Connecticut native, but the Barn Swallow is actually the most widely distributed Swallow species in the world. You can also watch out for them in open fields, parks, and ponds as they zip, swoop, and dive through the air collecting insects. In fact, Barn Swallows are strictly insectivorous, meaning they feed exclusively on bugs.

Please visit the kiosk by our Birds of Prey Exhibit for more information on the Barn Swallow.

Mommy, Me & Nature

Mommy, Me & Nature

It's NEVER too early to get your child outside! Come explore the wonders of nature together with your little one at the Nature Center. You and your toddler (18-36 months) will sing songs, listen to stories and experience all the delights of nature in an unhurried atmosphere created by our Early Childhood teachers. Mommy, Me and Nature classes will be led by our beloved Judy Gilroy in our age appropriate Marsh Room.
