Syrup Saturday: A Pancakes & PJs Brunch

To celebrate the bounty of the 2017 syrup season, we'll be serving up flapjacks, syrup and an array of tasty toppings (fruit, chocolate chips, and more!) in the Visitor Center. All are welcome and encouraged to dress in their PJS!

The day will also include tree tapping demos, a real maple sap "boil down" using sap from our resident Nature Center maples, plus a look into the past of historic and native methods of producing Maple Syrup.

NYBG: Intro
to Landscape Design

Join us here at NCNC for an introductory 3-session landscape design series, led by Sheri Forster. Gain an introduction to the terminology, concepts, and basic principles of landscape design through lectures and simple two-dimensional exercises. This course is recommended for students with little or no background in design who want to design for their own home or who are considering a Certificate.

Come enjoy the Nature Center! Take a hike on our two miles of trails that criss-cross the site (including a 350-foot marsh boardwalk).

Go on a scavenger hunt. The New Canaan Nature Center is located on a 40-acre site which features unusual habitat diversity offering a variety of horticultural experiences for the visitors as well as a live Birds of Prey Exhibit, a variety of gardens, a Greenhouse and a Visitors Center which houses our Discovery Room, Art Exhibits and the Nature Gift Shop.
