Outreach Programs offered by the New Canaan Nature Center feature
talented, professional educators utilizing interpretive techniques
such as hands-on science, storytelling, humor and live animals and
artifacts demonstrations. Programs are offered to community and corporate

With over 30 different programs to choose from, the New Canaan Nature
Center offers an extensive variety of topics and teaching formats
on-site or at your school. From watery habitats to wildlife in our
backyard, students can explore a range of natural science topics relevant

Boy and Girl Scout Programs
From wildlife investigations to field ecology and astronomy, the New
Canaan Nature Center offers more than 50 interactive programs designed
to help girl and boy scouts fulfill requirements needed to complete
badges and other advancements. With 40 acres of natural habitats and
a live animal collection of birds of prey, reptiles and mammals, the
Nature Center provides scouts with hands-on discovery, explorations

Before and Afterschool Programs
Looking for an after school activity for your elementary-age group?
Our professional educators will teach a weekly one-hour session for
up to twelve students for grades K - 5. Program sessions can be offered
for three to ten weeks and can be taught to children of a single or
two consecutive grade levels. (i.e.. K-1, 3-4). Programs can be designed
to accommodate school needs or requests. >
