Wildlife Watch

Harbor Seal

This winter, we’re highlighting the Harbor Seal.
Did you know…?
The Harbor Seal is the only marine mammal common to Connecticut. It can be observed from mid-November or early December to mid-March or early April all the way up the coast from Greenwich to Stonington. Not often easily seen by humans, Harbor Seals are most often spotted when they “haul out” onto rock ledges or outcroppings to bask in the sun. Try looking for them on your next coastal Connecticut adventure!
Click here to find out more about the Harbor Seal.

Learn even more about about these amazing animals, be sure to check out our Wildlife Watch kiosk out by the Sugar Shack!
