THE GREAT BACKYARD BIRD COUNT |
 |
Millions
of novice and accomplished bird watchers will participate
in th 11th annual Great Backyard Bird Count during "Presidents'
Day" weekend, February 15-18.
Volunteers
can count birds from wherever they are and enter their
tallies online. These reports create an exciting real-time
picture of where the birds are across the continent and
contribute valuable information for science and conservation.

Nature Shop Winter Clearance Sale |

the first time, The Nature Shop, the New Canaan
Nature Center's gift shop, is holding a winter clearance
sale. Select merchandise is 50% off original prices,
including gardening books and guides, calendars
and stationary, and numerous children's items.
Unique
children's items include a wide selection of books
for all ages, puzzles, games, stuffed animals and
puppets, and various nature-themed toys. Also available
are a range of children's party favor items priced
under $5.00. The NCNC member discount does not apply
to sale items.
The
sale is going on now through February 8, or while
supplies last. The Nature Shop is open Monday -
