We extend a heartfelt thanks to the talented volunteers who made the Nature Center's 50th Anniversary Celebration possible October 2, 2010. It was a magical night and energetic "kick-off" for the next 50 years! Thank you to all who attended the event and have so generously supported the New Canaan Nature Center.

Nature Center’s 50th Anniversary

The Nature Center’s 50th Anniversary is a once-a-century opportunity to plan for the future and ensure that the organization continues to grow and serve the needs of the community. Monies raised during this important year will help fund the following projects:

Children’s Play Garden Phase II… create interactive and unique structures that connect children with nature and draw more families to our facility.

Community Garden… garden plots for residents and groups that will promote healthy living, horticulture and community building.

Discovery Room Animal Exhibits… displays that present visitors with a more in-depth experience.

Welcome Garden & Interpretive Signage… promote awareness and use of many the diverse habitats and destinations throughout our 40 acres.

NCNC “Fishing Hole”… transform one of our ponds into a stocked fishing destination where families can learn about pond life and actively participate in the sport of fishing in an environmentally sound way.
