Landmark Ornaments are designed and created by hand by volunteers and all profits from the sales benefit the New Canaan Nature Center. The volunteers, led by Faith Kerchoff, work throughout the year to create the collection. The 19-step process includes determining the designs, creating line drawings, stamping and cutting the wood, painting, inking and finally sealing and tying on the ribbon to hang each one. From design to finish, each ornaments requires approximately 8-10 hours of work.

The first Landmark Ornament sold to benefit the Nature Center was created in the 1970's by a group of mothers from the nursery school. Since then, dedicated and talented volunteers have produced as many as 1,000 ornaments each year, raising up to $15,000 for the Nature Center annually. The ornaments are $15 each. Quantities are limited so pre-order to make sure you don't miss out! Select ornaments from past years are also available for sale at the Nature Center.
